The Department of Zoology in Saiva Bhanu Kshatriya College was
established in the year 1970-1971 with Pre- University course and has been offering B.Sc., Zoology from 1971-1972 onwards. Then B.Sc., Zoology Ancillary was started from 1976-1977. B.Sc., Zoology with Industrial Microbiology was started from 2000-2001. Once again our department offering B.Sc., Zoology from 2018-2019 for students welfare.

The department has well equipped laboratory, a museum with
rare collections of animal specimens and an entire Elephant Skeleton. M.Sc., Zoology course was newly begins with 2018-2019.The Department has four regular staff members and three self-finance staff members. The best part of our department is five Ph.D., doctorate faculty members who are specialized in various areas of biological sciences such as animal energetics, physiology, entomology andaquatic biology.

The department is noted for achieving excellent results and University
ranks and organised State level, National level and International level
conferences. The faculties have rich research experience with publications in national and international level. The department has many alumni in the highest posts of academic, research, medical and administrative fields. Also the department is disseminating the students many skill based education with innovative syllabi enabling either to pursue their higher education or job opportunities.
