The department of commerce has grown remarkably both qualitatively and quantitatively, right from its inception in 1970. Currently the department offers Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses in commerce. It also offers M.Phil., as a self-supporting programme since 2007-2008. The department was recognized as the research centre to offer Ph.D., in Commerce (Full- Time and Part-Time) during the academic year 2013-2014. The department has also conducts various Certificate Courses for non-commerce students. The department has the impressive record of students securing University Ranks.
